Firm History
Andrew J. Waxler, former partner and general counsel of a 200-lawyer national law firm founded the firm with Gretchen S. Carner in April of 2000. The founding partners, experienced in successfully litigating both simple and high profile complex cases, decided to break away from the big firm in order to provide its clients with high quality representation, free of conflicts, at a more economical, yet reasonable and fair cost. In May of 2001, the firm expanded its legal malpractice specialty by adding Barry Z. Brodsky and several of his colleagues. Prior to joining Waxler Carner Brodsky LLP, Mr. Brodsky was the department chair of the Professional Liability Group at Haight, Brown & Bonesteel and developed a reputation as one of the best professional liability defense trial lawyers in California.
